URJA PRODUCTS has developed high quality Non-Metallic Fabric Expansion Joints from Heat Resisting Fabrics. These joints are suitable for duct inside temperature as high as 800 deg. C.

Now Engineers are preferring Fabric Expansion joints compared to Metallic Expansion joints because of following reasons

Fabric Expansion Joints can take more misalignment & vibration
Fabric Expansion Joints are easy to replace
Fabric Expansion Joints are easy to repair.

Only dis-advantage of Fabric Expansion Joints is that it can withstand comparatively less pressure. Now even Metallic Expansion Joints are being covered with Fabric Expansion Joints.

Urja Product is making Fabric Expansion Joints from following fabrics to suit different requirements.

Glass Fabric
High Silica Fabric
Silicone Rubber coated Glass Fabric
Silicon Rubber coated High Silica Fabric
Aluminium Foil coated Fabric
Viton coated Fabric
Teflon coated Glass Fabric, etc.

Generally Glass fabrics are used as innermost fabrics for duct temperature upto 300-350 deg. C. Beyond that High silica fabrics are used which can withstand temperature as high as 700-800 deg. C.

Coated Glass fabrics are used for low temperature and coated High silica fabrics are used for higher temperature application. Coated High silica fabrics give reliability with regard to non-permeability of air.

Generally insulating pillows are put before the layers of High Temperature fabrics so that temperature is reduced it reaches the layers of High Temperature Fabrics. These pillows are made by covering CERAMIC WOOLS with High Temperature fabric (High Silica Fabrics) and stitching the same.

Metallic Baffle plates are again installed should the air flow in the duct contain some participates which can erode the fabric layers.

Fabric Expansion Joints can have round cross section or square or rectangular section. Fabrication is done to suit these shapes.

Generally transporting clamps are provided on Fabric Expansion joints during the dispatch so that the Fabrics will not get damaged. These clamps are removed after installation.
